Municipal tenders in Alberta are posted on Alberta Purchasing Connection, individual city and county websites, MERX, Biddingo, and construction boards such as BidCentral. There is no single official feed. City of Calgary vendor registration and City of Edmonton supplier registration are separate from APC. NorthCited monitors those sources daily and filters by trade.
Where municipal tenders are posted in Alberta
purchasingconnection.ca (APC); calgary.ca Doing Business with The City; edmonton.ca Supply Management; other municipal procurement pages (Red Deer, Lethbridge, Strathcona County, Rocky View, and towns); merx.com; biddingo.com; bidcentral.ca. School boards, universities, and AHS add MASH volume on the same boards.
Is there a free list?
Public notices are meant to be public. Free portal accounts exist. 'Free tender alerts Alberta' still means you must register in several places and read documents. See the alerts article for the gap versus a monitoring service.
Construction prequalification Alberta
Some owners run prequalification or vendor rosters before project tenders. Watch for those notices so you are not locked out of an invited ITT.
A workable weekly workflow
Monday: review new notices on APC and your city sites. Confirm addenda on live bids. Keep WCB and insurance current so a match can be a go. If that is not realistic beside running a crew, that is the retainer.
Selling to municipalities in Alberta
Register, stay compliant, bid only what you can bond and staff. Public sector bidding for small business in Canada fails on paperwork more than on price.
Doing business with the City of Calgary
Follow Calgary's current supplier registration path on calgary.ca, then still watch APC/MERX. One portal is not enough.
